3Di is a consultancy supporting schools, colleges, universities and businesses worldwide. Our three dimensional model of human potential aims to raise achievement in all aspects of learning, especially those that underpin academic, intellectual and workplace performance - spiritual intelligence, social & emotional intelligence, and creativity.
Education and inservice training in many countries is undergoing re-evaluation and redesign in order that far more attention is focused on learners' all-round wellbeing, happiness and enjoyment of learning. The very process of learning is again a key concern.
"Excellence and Enjoyment" can be a reality - not just a catchphrase or a title of a government strategy - provided businesses, schools and parents pay proper attention to the growth of physical, social, emotional and spiritual intelligences.
At 3Di we aim to help schools focus on pedagogy and classroom practice - on enlightened approaches to learning and teaching that make schools places which are vibrant, stimulating centres of excellence, where creativity, imagination and a passion for learning are watchwords for pupils and teachers alike.
Our approach to developing multiple intelligences, and in particular spiritual intelligence, focuses on human values that are common to all of humanity. The high incidence of violence, aggression, selfishness and greed in certain societies cannot be addressed adequately without creating education and lifelong learning systems that prioritise the development of human values, enlightened and unselfish behavior and spiritual intelligence.
Outmoded approaches to education based on cramming and coaching children to perform well in tests and exams, to the exclusion of all else, are increasingly being questioned and rejected by parents, educationalists and politicians around the world.
Many children and young people have a sense that the pressure on them to perform well in tests is merely a part of the politics-driven targets culture, and does nothing to promote learning for their own purposes or their own enjoyment.
The pioneering work done in high-performing countries like Finland and Denmark - where the wellbeing of children and the development of their intrinsic motivation to learn have long been the driving forces in education - is becoming increasingly influential.
A re-evaluation of educational practices in England and Wales is currently being given structure and impetus by the Rose review of the Primary curriculum, and the Alexander Review of Primary education.
Schools wishing to move quickly on discussing and implementing the recommendations of Rose and Alexander should contact 3Di for consultancy, training and support. School leaders and managers will want to consider changes and ensure they programme them carefully for sustainable school improvement.
