7) Pupil voice and participation in school improvement.

Quality Circles and School Councils have made a significant impact in many schools. Are yours as effective as they could be?  Are you responding to the advice and opinions of children and young people? In many cases, this is happening but still young people are suggesting that their voice is either not heard or not integrated into school development plans.

But pupil voice should not end there. How are your pupils supporting the development and indeed implementation of the curriculum? What opportunities are there for older pupils to be involved in the learning of younger ones? How are young people shaping their own learning and engaging in school and community development?

We can advise you on how to set up or further develop school and class councils, and encourage participation and active citizenship for your young people. We can provide advice and guidance on all aspects of pupil involvement. Furthermore, we can look at key ways of engaging all young people in developing their voice through ICT, video and DVD in an exciting and engaging way that gets their message across, whilst also providing them with key skills in understanding and using digital media.
